For me, it’s always fun getting lost in a good story. That’s one thing that I love about being a public librarian (and my past job working in the publishing industry). However, another thing that I love about discovering great stories is the enjoyment that comes with sharing those stories with others!
Some of the patrons here at the library have discovered that we have staff recommendations (both on our website and on display in the front entrance), but we also have staff members who love to suggest great stories to anyone who might ask us. For many of us, it makes our day to share with others why we love these great stories!
Recently, I had the privilege of attending the North Texas Teen Book Festival in Irving, TX. I always look forward to the NTTBF because it is a chance to not only discover exciting new books that are coming out, but it is a chance for me to meet some of the gifted authors who create the stories that I love! This year I got to meet Chloe Gong, author of These Violent Delights (my staff recommendation) and she was kind enough to sign my copy of Our Violent Ends (the sequel to TVD).

I also got to meet the multi-talented Stephanie Garber, author of the Caraval trilogy (one of my favorites), and she signed my copy of Once Upon a Broken Heart (the first book of a new trilogy set in the same world as Caraval, but with new characters).

Overall, it was a booklover’s dream come true! Being able to discover new stories, meet the people who create these stories, and then to share these stories with others!
Check out the staff book recommendations here at Rockwall County Library. The selection of books is diverse enough that there is sure to be something there for everybody to enjoy! You may discover your next favorite story there!
